On January 16th, A&A Paving was fortunate enough to partner with the Bloomindale-Roselle Rotary club to serve at Phil’s Friends in Roselle. Phil’s Friends is a non-profit organization dedicated to “providing support and hope to those affected by cancer.”  Using care packages, notes of support called Cards of Hope, and volunteer visitors, Phil’s Friends attempts to give hope to those in dealing with cancer. Sinkholes in Your Parking Lot?

January 18th, 2018

We treat parking lots a lot like many of us treat our health; we typically wait to call the professional and have them take a look until an issue becomes visible. As a parking lot contractor, we receive many calls throughout the season regarding actual sinkholes which have formed within our customers’ lots and the majority of them occur within close proximity to a catch basin(sewer) designed to remove water from the lot. When these issues occur, in the same way we want a doctor to approach our health, we want to inform our customers on the actual root of…

Sealcoat Does More Than “Just Make It Black”

January 11th, 2018

I can’t tell you how many times this comment has been communicated to me when speaking about sealcoating a parking lot. As I mentioned in my previous article, preventative maintenance is the key to a long-lasting parking lot. Within our goal of #pavingitforward is a commitment to provide education to the property managers that we serve. With that being said, I must address the benefits sealcoating provides as part of a pavement maintenance plan. It may seem as though you are saving money by delaying necessary repairs and sealcoating. However, much like the majority of the medical community will agree…

Choosing THE Right Contractor

December 19th, 2017

The Winter season is THE best time to get a contract in place for your Spring parking lot projects. The last of the asphalt plants close around the beginning of December so it allows for time for contractors to look at your project outside of the busy construction season and most often will give you the opportunity for better pricing! There is no shortage of commercial parking lot paving contractors within the Chicagoland market. For example, a quick search on The Better Business Bureau website using the term “paving contractor” specific to our area will provide a result of 297…

Team shopping for gifts to donate to For the 10

In late November, A&A Paving Contractors, Inc. team members happily spent a lunch break shopping for toys to donate to For the 10’s Holiday Gift Mart. Delighted with their task, these shopping elves filled carts with holiday presents for local children. Incredibly, these children will receive these gifts from their parents, who will no longer have to worry whether they can afford gifts this holiday season. Each year, thousands of parents throughout the Chicagoland area struggle to provide for their families, let alone purchase Christmas gifts for their children. For the 10, established by Mission Church, partners with friends and…

Is Your Parking Lot ADA Compliant?

September 18th, 2017

Accessible parking spaces seem uncomplicated, but they frequently trip up property owners who don’t realize that there’s more to parking spaces than just painting the International Symbol of Access on the ground.
